A Weekend Camellia Show

THIS weekend flowerlovers will be flocking to the annual camellia show at Tomago House.

The show will feature blooms from growers from Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, St Ives, Kulnura, Wiseman's Ferry and Ourimbah.

As well as the blooms there will be a floral arrangement competition with sections for adults and schools and professional arrangements done by florists will be on display.

There will also be displays and talks on cake decoration, floral arrangements, aromatherapy and how to growcamellias.

At 1pm today, Jeannette Lee from the Adamstown Garden Club will talk about the open garden scheme, while Bob Cherry will talk about growing camellias at 1.30pm tomorrow.

Devonshire teas and light refreshments will be available and there will be a range of plants for sale.

The camellia show will be open from 10am until 4pm today and tomorrow.
